Adventure Track at Purnus Jokilaakso
Our adventure track consists of tasks that test your both self-confidence and your courage, so success feels great! As the tasks require close cooperation with your companions, team spirit is strengthened.
There are two tracks: high and low, and the former is tightly attached to the upper half of the planet! Both are located in the forests surrounding Purnus Jokilaakso. All participants decide which tasks they will attempt to complete.
(If you have a good head for heights, try climbing to the highest level of our Jacob’s Ladder.)
Tasks on the high track:
- Walk along a wooden log suspended 10 metres above the ground, bending double when you reach the centre.
- The Jacob’s Ladder is a huge set of wooden steps reaching 14 metres up into the air, the gap between each step gets smaller as you move upwards. The task is to reach the highest step you can as a group. Teams consist of three or four members, and the same number of people are required on the ground to ensure that the people climbing are kept safe.
Tasks on the low track:
- Crossing the Chasm - using only the tools provided to cross a chasm in the rocks, making sure that no-one falls into the ”chasm”.
- The Low Wire Track - groups complete the track, helping each other to keep their balance. A variety of accessories can be found along the route.
- The Spider’s Web - a huge spider is guarding its web. Each participant has to make their way through the web without attracting the hungry spider's attention.
- The High Log - your task is to find a way of climbing over a horizontal log suspended some two metres above the ground. Everyone helps everyone so that no team member is left behind.
- The Electric Trap - all members of your group are trapped in a three-dimensional ”trap” surrounded by ’live’ electrical cables. The task is to find out how everyone can safely be released.
All tasks are carried out safely under the supervision of a trained instructor, using safety harnesses where required. Prime objectives include a) individual success and b) getting as much pleasure as possible out of group/team activities.
